Thanks. When I saw that the other day I gave it a try and maybe it's because my AVs are low levelled (both Mizuho and Testes are only level 50) but they always got rekt before the boss. I've since found a way to do 3-5 consistently though. The classic Abukuma + 5DD but fill the DDs with boilers and bulge for Bernie after putting maybe a radar to reach the required LOS.
Wrestling with RNG over medium, with me being on the ground every fucking time. I'll have to recharge my bauxite now, since I'm running low on it. E-4 is just one whole bloody RNG shitfest like spring E-2+E-5. It's bloody retarded.

Bismarks guns are like half done, I've only finished 1 set of +9 vanilla 41's, 2 +4 proto 41's only one +9 381mm. And thats just the large reds... there is still so much to be done.

Between you mentioning Akashi and some of the comments on her page I decided to scrap mine yesterday. She was like in the early 1000's ship ID, I got ger way back in winter 15.. anyway, she was only 40 so I scrapped her and it only took 28 runs to get a new one. Glad it only took a few hours to get her back and get working on kai'ing her.

Well, I improved my way to the 32 skilled right when it came out because it looked like no one else was and it's camo.. so fuck it. Once the 32(s) is maxed it's a Reppuu with nice secondary stats, while not the best investment, it's not like it's garbage.
I converted the C to the fighterbomber right when that came out too. Even then, long before improvable planes, I felt I had enough good fighters to cover the "loss" of a good fighter for a toy. As it turns out, that fighterbomber is what makes my 2 CVL AS+ for 4-2 weeklies work as well as a few minor fleets.
Firstclass... meh. I don't care about that, I assume I'll go full hard.. but ya' never know. I'll push for hard simply for the screws and medals, other than new girls there isn't much for me to farm..
Meh, there's a good enough selection of improvable fighters for now. Other than extreme combine fleet dual support and LBAS examples, you wouldn't need more than 4 maxed fighters at one time anyway.

Is DD levelling at 4-3 costly? Never done it before lol. I want to kai ni my Ayanami, Hibiki and Kasumi in time for the event but I don't want to waste my resources. All three of them are at lvl64 now. I just spent a bunch to kai ni Ooi, Kako and Ashigara recently.
3 fleets on rotation keeps the low morale away unless you get shut down at J a few times or hit only the two sub nodes repeatedly.
Use stronger CA's like Myoukou class, not because you need the power but because the leech xp isn't too shabby. Don't use CVLs because those extra attacks on the SS's will fuck up your short ranged DDs chances of securing MVP on the second round of shelling.

Still prettymuch at 200k/160k/300k/78k 1k bucket I started the event with but I've still been kinda disinterested and I don't have a burning desire for Aquila or I-26, all I really care about is Warspite so I still might just not finish on hard because I don't feel like spending the time. If I finish on easy I know I'll regret it so I'll probably just get that shit done the right way and take a few days off and then hardmode farm till I'm broke, I hate myself or I get them.

Yeah, full BB fleet is confirmed vulnerable to full sub fleet. Especially when the subs are equipped for torpedo cut-ins. Just S ranked a 4BB2CA fleet in PVP. I'm definitely going to luck modernize a set of subs.
I just completed E3 after posting in the event thread. Last dance was retarded af. At the double BB Princess node one BB, one CAV and my only CV got shot to orange health. I thought I was fucked since I no longer have heavy air power to rely on for AS(+) and artillery spotting and my ships are gonna get raped at the boss. Fuck it, I thought, and pressed next to proceed. Then I watch as my LBAS oneshot the supply depot princess and my damaged CV launched planes for AS+. lolwtf? all enemies cleared without the escort fleet even getting their turn.
cuz 3 is better than 2. Though I've been using it quite a bit lately it's mostly because Unryuu's have been the core of my carriers seeing action and each of them have a slot too low to make much use of otherwise. After saiun on one and maybe SCAMP on one of the others that still leaves a slot with a plane count of 3 with nothing to do, assuming putting a fighter there would do nothing for AS/+

Oh, yeah. It'll be a little rough, you might not want to try and clear 2-5 with that fleet, but doing Bm1 should only take a few runs. Make sure their armor fp and torp is modernized.
Just to be clear. if one of your girls is heavily damaged at the first node and you go to the night battle node she will sink. Its not the same as regular nightbattles, its a whole new node with only 1 phase of combat, so don't advance to them thinking you're all good, unless you actually are.
As for Echelon or Line abreast, those are common defensive formations to evade torps and gunfire. Some people swear by Ech, some by abreast, try both see what works for you. I like Ech because my girls are still pretty likely to hit while still evading.

Does cut-in attack have higher accuracy than double attack? The levelling guide page reccommends cut-in setup for low/no morale grinding. I checked the combat guide page and it says nothing on accuracy, only damage modifier and trigger rate.
I hover around 850/1177 items so I keep what ever the fuck I want, which a solid third of that 850 is all extra stuff for Akashi consumption like 10 extra of all radars, a shit ton of green guns for the Daihatsu upgrades and things like that. Not only do I try to keep a bit of everything I also try to keep a quantity sufficent for multiple fleets if possible, since I like to rotate when ever I can.
It's not like I got these things over night or anything so don't compare too much.
What you can't see is at least 2 of each kind of "shitty" plane max ranked and at least another 2 unranked, for future Aircraft Conversion. I also keep up to 20 of each T99/97 bombers for grinding 3-2 or 5-4, but those get cycled out as they build rank.
I've for 2 Hiryuus and 2 Souryuus with a 3rd Souryuu in the 50s on the way, she will be the last one though.... I did the duplicate set before Shoukaku&Zuikaku K2 came out to help with shiplocking and support fleets.

I was keeping 16 or 24 (to fully equip either 4 or 6 carriers) of each type of plane but I just went and deleted all the shitty ones a while ago because of lack of space. What's the 3rd Souryuu for? T99 Egusa?

So I bought like 3 or 4 slot expansions after my first two events, then some time later when I had just finished work three months of 70 hour weeks I went to buy 50$ but I was baked and it was the early AM and... whelp 50 turned into 500 cuz converted wrong. After talking to the bank and figuring out how stoping the transaction worked I decided not to fuck myself over in the long run with DMM or my account in general and it happen to be the perfect time since I was caked from all that overtime. Though that sealed the life long comitment to kancolle. I've played mmos @ 15$ a month for ... shit eq2 alone was 8 years, and eve online was 5. I'm not big into buying a lot of that microtransaction or dlc shit but I'll spend if I enjoy it.
I'm only missing 2 girls and I've only got a small number of dupes/kai4gear ships so it's around 200-220 depending on the flow of Maruyus, Mikumas and Nagatos.
As for the planes... I just keep thinking about LBAS and the need for a large number of all three types. You could probably get away with waiting till a month before the summer event and then stock up on planes because I don't think LBAS is going away, though not every boss is going to be like Central. Aerial supports probably won't be a one time thing either...

There's really not a whole lot you can do, with what you've got to work with, but that's not to say you're fucked.
Swap Fubuki and Kumano so Fubuki can get a bit more aaci trigger from FS.
Run dual support for LD, the support you are using there is good enough for preboss nodes, maybe a 3rd plane on the CVs which can be reduced to CVLs and the FBBs to Ise or non K2 Fusou class to cut the cost a bit, you can also cut those DDs down to 1 radar because I honestly don't think they contribute a damn thing.
As far as your probably fucked resources you should run 2 5 and 21. for 5 sparkle 5 ships and for 21 sparkle 4 and bring as many drums as they can hold. If you actually keep up on the sparkle and are playing enough to not let the expeds sit for a while you should put any Daihatsus on ships in exped5. Many people can go from softcap(25-30K) fuel and ammo to over 100k in about a week of 5,21, and 37/38. You might not be that far but you still have time to pull a literal fuckton of resources out of 5 and 21. and if you didn't know, the placebo sparkle from 50-52 morale still counts as a sparkle for expeditions so you can get away with lazy shit like a pvp match against a single small ship with your exped fleet, you get an S without night battling and everyone aside from the FS andMVP comes out sparkling.
It's monday morning in Japan, take the day off from the event and get crackin on the daily/weeklies at 5am, start your resources restocking. even unsparkled and no GSs you're lookin at about 1k every 3 hours between 5 and 21. If you sparkle so you GS every time that extra 50% per run + any daihatsu bonuses on top will turn into several thousand by the end of the night.
If you have Akashi you might consider dumping any screws you have into making a 10cm+aafd so Fubuki can use that + an air radar to aaci and take the fleshlight so it's in the FS postion and if it does work it's all good because your FS (if able) will always shoot first in nightcombat, so anything that happens to her after that doesn't matter, where as with the light in non FS that girl can and probably will be killed before she can fire. in the end it kind of doesnt matter, so long as the diversion works and keeps the fire off the CAVs but if you can preserve by rearranging gear you should. If you don't have Akashi, fuckit.
As far as radars and such... well that depends on who you ask... I've been using mostly 1 radar on each girl, though for a boss node like E5 with some bricks I would go 4 planes on the CVs and aim for enough firepower on the BBs to still deal quality damage in head-on, if they hit.... With preboss you can get away with 3 planes on the CVLs and close to fp cap on the BBVs because the highest armor target on the way in is that Ne class.
Looking at the ships you're using this is probably your second event and you're around hq70-100, you probably shouldn't expect to clear this event. You should of course keep trying untill the servers go down. Iowa is cool and all but there are a million other ships you need to get and level and that will be used on a much more regular basis. Her tits are great but Japanese girls are stacked too....

Strange thing is I saw my 2hp Yukikaze activate the searchlight animation. Not sure if it triggers though or if it was just a glitch. I placed Kumano as flagship for increased survivability from whatever buff she gets being flagship. Back in E2, when I put my CA(V)s at the bottom they always get incapacitated before they are able to do their thing. Switched one out to flagship and cleared E2 on my first try with Atago flagship pulling a clutch move targeting the boss while the accompanying enemy stragglers looked on in horror.
Have you had favorable results running all planes with no radar on your support expedition CVs? I'm worried they won't be able to hit shit.
This is my first event. You guessed right, I'm HQ level 97. I started playing on the first of March this year. I pretty much no lifed this game.
Yea if this is your first even you are doing as good or better than people with 2 or 3 under their belts.
As far as supports.. it's hard for me to say. Looking through the various fleet report thread you'll see people with respecable names post fleets and their support layouts can differ, things like ap shells though the exped page says they dont do anything. some people pile radars on the DDs some don't so i'm not exactly sure what to make of it all. For me, if node support is sinking at least 1 ship on each node more often than not and putting some damage on the others I'm content. It may be a steep price but it's kinda like an opening torp, you start off with one less enemy, one less shot at you, one less thing for your girls to shoot at and one less closing torpedo that (probably) would have sent you home. Same for the boss support, if it sink 1 or 2 of the small ships then thats great, 2 less distractions.
I've seen the searchlight thing but I', not sure... too lazy to look into it.
Thank you. I guess I got lucky at my E5 last dance killing run. Everything seemed to have went perfectly. Ships were getting damaged but no one was getting one shot to red, except for Poi yet again but we were at the boss node so it didn't matter.
After all those prematurely ended, and not to mention costly, runs by Poi, I equipped a damage control to give her a second life if when she gets one shot before reaching the boss. Poi stopped getting one shot but my Shamakaze with 74 evasion, the fastest destroyer ever with super boilers and all that jazz, gets one shot at air battle node instead. What the fuck, right? lol
After clearing E5, I was too lazy and stressed out to research E6 and attempt it. Spent the whole night last night procrastinating on other things. On the bright side, when I'm having cold feet, I farm, and I'm now up to 107k/108k/120k/53k in resources lol. When I started playing, I thought those people with all resources at close to 300k were out of their minds but now I know how it's done. Get nervous and proceed with farming.

I went 2, but I have Akitsumaru to Reppuu mule. I'll look at it again but I'm pretty sure 2 is a non option without Akitsumaru because of the inability to get AS+ and deal damage. 3 is probably the best route for you.
lol you should consider doing a few 1-5 runs and see if you get lucky with Akashi, no aaci at all (without usng a potato) is super harsh... still do-able but it'll be more of an ass pain that it needs to be.
Try something along these lines. I picked ships based on what was in your showcase, obviously I know your ships aren't all K2'd but this is who I think you should use. Not necessarily in that order...
I didn't bother looking at your dive bombers so you can just fill in the blanks with those but if you place you fighters just like that you'll get 411fp which will give you AS+ on every node and pattern. Don't fear the no Saiun, but if you just can't deal with red t's you can put a Saiun in Akagi's 10slot but you'll lose AS+ on a pattern or two having 358fp.
That said, I've used all your good fighters just for the fleet. you still need at least 4 more fighters of Shiden K2 quality or Better yet Reppuus for your initial LBAS waves to crush Centrals airpower.
Finished debuffing, now contemplating on fleet composition. I'm thinking of going EIKMN. Stuffed my carriers just nice:
Hiryuu kai - Reppu ×3, Fighter-bomber ×1
Shoukaku kai - Suisei M12A ×3, Shiden Kai Ni ×1

Planes listed in descending order of ship slots. All double chevron unless stated otherwise. According to the http://kcascalculator.azurewebsites.net/# it gives me 382 fighter power. Enough for the highest AS+ requirement formation at node E of 369.
During debuff runs, I set up Hyuuga to AACI and it's ridiculous. Battleship blasting planes out of the sky is just glorious. Maybe I shouldn't do that for boss runs though. I think my fighter power is enough to not need AACI?
oh shit, your fighters arent even >> ... you need to do that first and foremost. go to 1-1 and sparkel the CVs in your fleet and in the support, put 1-2 of your fighters in the lowest slots and keep going untill every fighter you are using for your main fleet and LBAS are >>'d. Max rank fighters are an absolute must, and if you calculate your AS properly they (should) never lose that rank, so this is a one time thing. Trying to keep rank on bombers during heavy aerial stages like E6&7 isn't worth the time sink.
Ah ok, max that sk2. you're still going to need more reppuu for LBAS and to max those.
If you use that 3repp 3sk2 plane layout on Kaga Shoukaku and either Chitose or Chiyoda you'll pull 385w/o saiun and 335 with saiun in the CVLs slow slot.
When picking carriers and their plane load out you need to play around on as calculators to figure out who's slots best fit the AS values you need to get without sacrificing bombers, and the first two slots on carriers give crit bonus so trying to avoid using those slots for fighter cover is important.
By the distrabution of plane slots you can see ships like Kaga and Akagi are better suited to carrying heavy fighter loads, oh course it depends completely on the specific situation, but their somewhat low planecount in the first two slots makes them vunrable to aaci and strong fleet air defence rolls which can result in 0 bombers in those slots which mean no attacking. The rate at which fighters and bombers are/can be lost are very different. Assuming you are getting at least AS fighters are plenty safe in slots with a low plane count, and >>'d planes get a flat fp bonus ontop of the normal fp they give depending on the slotsize. Ships like Hiryuu and Souryuu K2 with their big slot at #2 but verry low 3&4's very low with the 4th slot just begging for a recon plane/FCF/SCAMP are pretty much purpose built attack carriers. Shoukaku and Zuikaku kai and their super flat plane distrabution can go either way.
That's just the gist of carrier layouts, like I said, It all depends on the specific situation when it comes to who and what you use. You can always use girls you like, but sometimes you just gotta get shit done first.

Second round at the boss, boss support airstriked the boss hard. OHKO before the battle even begins is some game breaking shit dude, but I guess they had to make up for giving us the hell that is E2 (and some say E5).
I'm trying to get more reppus each day. If I don't get enough by the time I clear E6 I'm gonna spam reppu recipe until I get enough. I see you're already preparing me for E7 lol.
Well, 411 because that just happened to be what your six best planes gave, and also don't forget that even with AS+ you will still lose some fighters(more so with AS), I'm too lazy to do the math specifically but your fp will degrade the deeper you go. With the 5 fighter and sauin, the fp values are close enough that you could slip to only AS on later nodes. Going with AS will whitle down your fighter and bombers much faster than with AS+ the whole way. You should try a few runs with the different values, see how it goes.
I'm pretty much always too lazy to math, so I opt for a margin of safety against the loss of AS+ when possible. I won't ignore the way battle actually plays out though, adjusting this and that untill I find that perfect fit or I get lucky and clear it anyway..
That calc is outdated. the AS values are correct so it is still usable but that popup is talking about this past winter, 6-4 is missing and so are seaplane fighters i think. worst of all is trying to max rank a plane in the last slot of a carrier at the bottom of the page... wtf.... I use aircalc.net
Also a part of the reason I picked those CA's is because they are among the best K2 CAs in the game, so using them and getting them xp is a good thing. Stat wise EliteCA they (in their kai version) are all so close to Atago that her stat advantages are negligible, where as the other CAs will make up the core of your CA force when K2'd so you should use them whenever you need CAs.
I totaly overlooked the 2CV route because no Akitsumaru but it seems lots of people are going that way anyway, depending on how often you're getting off routed with 3CV you might wanna go with 2 instead.
I'm thinking of trying the two carrier route but I'm afraid of the nodes with battleships, not to mention the air battle node I have to go through with only a weak AACI setup, unless I sacrifice an aviation battleship for that which would further impair my firepower output. The three carrier route has been occasionally sending me off course and it's just infuriating. Complete waste of resources. Fuck E6 man, randomly going off course right before the boss is artificial difficulty. Tell me there's no such thing in E7.

I definitely need to level and kai ni my heavy cruisers once the event is over. I've been ignoring them for a long time, because superior battleships.
The thing about DGFHN is nearly the same AS values but with only 2 CVs, which means AS only or pretty much no bombers. Don't worry about those Rus too much, they're in diamond formation so they won't be terribly accurate like the ones at the E5 bossnode. E7 is a secure route. You should at least try 2CV route.
As far as reading Japanese, fuck that. I can't read that shit at all, but after playing this for a year and a half I've memorized what every girls name looks like, the class designations and probably every piece of gear. For aircalc.net it's fairly simple because you can ignore most of the shit on that page. Pick your girls with the dropdown in the top left, ignore all that green red blue and purple stuff in the middle.
I don't know why only E1&2 are done, whoever runs airclac has always been ontop of their shit... it doesn't matter though, just look at the patterns on the e6 tab and aim for those numbers like you have been.
If you click the yellow E1 dropdown and look at 3-5 and it 2 enrties for example, you'll see one is at 673 and the other at 772 (there is a buffer value of 10 by default factored in) compare that against 3-5 north route patterns you'll see that one is to deal with the high AS+ @ C while the other is for the high value @ F. All the multiple entries are like that, sometimes you just have to double check your using the right one, or not use them at all and get your numbers right from the wikia page you probably have open anyway.
I'm using the two carrier route now and it seems better as I can bring along an additional heavy cruiser, avoid the troll subs plus get 100% routing to the boss. Only problems I face is the random taiha on Poi (again) by torpedos. I stuffed my carriers with reppus and shinden mk2s plus a fighter bomber each on the last slot and it gets the job done. Probably overkill but I don't want ti risk losing ranks Shit, now I realized I forgot to bring my saiun. Oh well. Still at slightly over 100k resources. I can already taste freedom.

I just finished first attempt at last dance. It's horrible. Now she has zero hp left and she still floats. I got off two epic airstrikes in all my runs, one dealing 1k+dmg and the other 800 that one hit KO'd the boss. Maybe three if you count my last dance one dealing 700+ damage but failed to sink her. And my failure in life ship girls also failed to wreck that 79 or so hp left on the boss.
Told ya 6 & 7 aren't too bad. 7 is the same exact shit but use blue planes and the 4CV north route. I was just looking at those AS values and it looks like using Shoukaku Hiryuu Kaga and Akagi even with 8 Reppuus can't pull AS+ on the AA boss pattern and the first node.
This will get you 421fp you can put another fighter in Akagi's 10 slot. This should be enough for AS+ on final.
Your LBAS should be
Base 1 - 1 Fighter with enough range to get to the boss and the rest of the slots with either Reppuus or Sk2s(that's either 5 or 6 range depending if choice nodes count.. i'm not sure)
Base 2 - 1-2 fighters with range and 2-3 blue planes
Base 3 - 1 Fighter with range and all of your landbased attack aircraft (LBAS bombers)
Run dual support the whole time, full blue planes on your main fleet the leftover ones on the boss support and everything else on the node support.
Too baked to think right... looking through the combat logs and what gear I used I was pulling AS+ on every node and pattern except the high fp patterns on the first node and the boss node with what kc3 says to be 315-338fp. I forgot that the first 2 waves of fighters culls the boss node down enough you can shoot for lower values.
Meh, the boss node and last dance are going to be a bit harder because damaged Central doesn't explode quite the same way she does in E6, but you can still put down several hundreds of dmg in a strike. It's like E6 all over again but with 4CV and LBAS.

Yeah I use KC3改, started around July after playing for about 6months without. The main reason I started using it was to see morale. Battle/construction prediction isn't even prediction, as soon as you pick your formation the results are calculated so all that's left is to sit there and watch it play out.
I have most of the options turned off like the gay ass meme shit, all the alerts except the exped pop, and the voiceline subs.
Sometimes on lastdances and such I'll push the devpannel off the side and "play it legit", actually watching combat for the results. 99% of the time I just want to know who got blown up, mvp and who dropped....

I too find it useful to see morale. I only started using it to screenshot that picture at the very top of this thread in order to show you my fleet. i didn't use any viewers before because I didn't want to bother with the hassle of installing third party shit that might cause incompatibility or whatever whenever the game updates. I just want to play and i can get by with memorizing game UI and commands like I used to on old Japanese PS1 games.
I don't like the instant sortie result because once i know the result i want to continue, 'like right now, come on, let's go, you're wasting my time having me watch this'. it's stupid cause i'm wasting time regardless, but eh it just makes me feel that way. besides i like to watch the battle and give moral support to my girls by yelling at them.
As for construction, I guess I like the mystery of it. If I know the result instantly, then I want the construction to end now, 'like right now, gimme my ship now'.
question: E7 CTF goes through 6 nodes but there is a chance to be diverted to 7 nodes. If I put planes with a range of 6 on my base, will they fail to show up at the boss if my fleet gets diverted to the 7 node route?
Well KC3 and game updates/compatability isn't an issue. all viewers do is read the api data and present it in a way we can understand, it's just an overlay, like the quest and voiceline translations.
Living and dying by each battle will wear your heart down and you'll die young. It's fun for a while but if you let piss poor preformances and taihas get you mad you'll burn out quick. Construction is cool too, till you have everyone and it becomes just a daily quest chore and base LSC rolls for Mikumas, Maruyus and Nagato class.
Those first 6 months are fun because it's new and mysterious, the next 6 are fun because you know what you are doing and you have the ships to back it up.

I feel like I need more carriers. Can I use Kaga, for example, in my main fleet and another Kaga on boss support? That's what people keep two of the same ships for right? My current boss support consists of only light carriers. I need better carriers to bring the fucking rain.
30-40K fuel and baux, I ran myself down to the point that I still had enough to blast through ez mode. I work somewhat unpredicable hours and I didn't wanna keep going on hard with no res then get a bunch of hours dumped on me and worst case not even finish the event, so I called it with 10 days to go. This was right before Slashzero put that nice guide up, which I have everything for and could have used it to clear hard for sure... meh.
Yes you can. I keep duplicate Hiryuu and Souryuu for shiplocking and for stong support carriers. You can also do duplicates in a combined fleet, one in the main and the other in the escort.
When you get some time post a pic of what you're fleets are and are using + lbas.
And I just completed it. Airstrikes worn her down but didn't do the zomgholyshitlmao nuke. Boss support arstrike did jack shit, either misses or 20 or so damage. Went into night with the boss, carrier princess and fucking meat shield dyson. Thought I lost this. Everyone shot at the boss for scratch damage. Then Kongou did a double attack and the second one crit and killed her. Literally the last shot of the battle. Kongou did some MVP clutch move man. It was surreal.

Also would probably have quit the game out of disappointment lol. Finally I got what I started this game for. It was the Iowa hype that pushed me to start playing and with word that she might (almost confirmed actually) be introduced in Kancolle this event, there wasn't a better time to start.
Absolutely pain in the ass. She's one of the unicorns in my game, along with Ooi and Hyuuga. No matter how many times I do construction, (I do a lot of construction because I'm too lazy to sortie for drops) they never appear. Eventually I got them all from drops. Ooi I got from E1 two weeks ago when I was already HQ level 90+. Game is weird sometimes.
Nah I gave up on that shit like two days ago. I figured if I was going to waste my time and resources I should try and farm Amagi. At that time I was only missing Amagi, Hatsukaze and Oyashio, and of those three Amagi was the only one that could be of any real use. I ended up getting Amagi yesterday after only a few dozen runs so that was cool.
Now trying to get more U's even though I've got a wife'd Ro a U at 70 and Shioi at 99 giving me harsh drop penalty because I won't scrap that U... it's cheap and painless so I'll just waste the rest of the event time trying to pull some more WGs and Seirans

As a fighting ship she's a piece of shit. but like Akitsushima, Hayasui and Akashi she's a special branching ship.
While the plane slots are low, the flat rate FP from maxed fighters gives her a pretty nice chunk of FP to the fleet. E6 2cv route is a good example of when she's really usefull. She comes with gg asw gear for BBVs and CVLs and a daihatsu at kai
Yeah, I appropriated that strategy from Zel-Melon's post regarding farming E3. Land bases makes it so much easier to farm E4 and E5. I can just airstrike the fuck out of the node I intend to farm and it's a guaranteed S rank (unless my girls somehow fuck it up).
Sometimes it will boil down purely to the stats and not being able to deal the right damage

In the regular game you can pretty much do what every you want as long as you undstand the actual limits of the fleet, like when you simply must use Kaga if you want to get AS/+. When it comes to doing Hard mode on events it's a different story. While it isn't all best girls or youre fucked you do need to have a strong core and variety of ships. There are certain ships that you really can't go without..
Even if you don't plan on playing at a "high level" you should still be capable of reaching up into hard mode to grab a nice item when the oppritunity presents it's self, E1 as an example, though it wouldnt have been a good idea for you to try while you were so new, if a similar situation happens next event you'll be ready to do a hard stage. 4-5 is a good taste of what hard is usually like.
How are the U-5II droprates for you? I got one a few hours into my farming session and the next one was way at the end around when I decided to stop farming E3 anymore. I think I'm done, I don't wanna place any more bets on ever shrinking odds. In between those I got three I-4OI though, I guess she's more common.
I have a small fleet of girls I picked up just to have 1 of everything, it's Yura and most of those other Fubuki class I think. They're still unkai'd because I really only ever use them to clear the 6 or 15 sub quest by doing the first node of 1-6, so they don't get much xp.
Just use Kamikaze as an expedition ship, there's no point to trying to make her a fighting ship.
What?! How dishonorubur to the tokugata kuchikukan (it's drilled into my head by now) Fubuki class. I have a lvl 81 Fubuki, lvl 56 Miyuki and lvl 50 Isonami plus the others, except Hatsuyuki because she's boring.
User:SlashZero Is what I use to 4-3. The only thing I'll mention beyond what's on that page is, don't use strong max ranked bombers like Ryuusei Kai's, really anything higher then +10 is too high and will lead the theft on the sub nodes.

Use your 3 fleet presets to make 3 grind fleets. Abukuma as FS on all of them, a diferent kongou class and different CV, ca ect... and rotate them, it'll help with the morale.
Oh by failed I meant she missed. She was stealing MVP with the default equipment she comes with (I might have modernized her a little). I gave her all radars so she hits and kills everything she targets. And she misses that one last destroyer still standing now my U-511 is damaged.
Only Kongous in 4-3 and Ise's/nonK2 Fousou's for 3-2a, anything other than them (CVs too) gets FS xp only, 3-2a FSMVP S rank is the bare minimum standard you should hold when it comes to xp to resupply cost.
If you have Katori and or Kashima you should start incorporating her/them into pvp which whenever possible should be centered around Iowa and giving her AS/+ with a reppuu mule or even and AV if that's all it'll take. In pvp FSMVP should be around 2k.
I'm doing batch levelling at the 3-2A grind since my ships are mostly still relatively low leveled or unkai ni'd and they can all benefit from it. I use XX, CV, BB, CA, CLV, SS. I rotate the four Kongou class battleships and the four Myoukou class heavy cruisers. Actually, I left out Ashigara in favor of Maya because she isn't needed for BM1. Now that Shoukaku has reached level 80 (but still not kai ni because I don't have the flight deck) I use Zuikaku or Souryuu for CV. CVL is a Zuihou I got from the event. U-5IIs are my new SS tanks. I stick a DD in flagship. It's like magikarp training all over again. DD always gets 500 exp from flagship, CV gets 700 exp from MVP. It's slow but I think it's most efficient without 4-3 unlocked.
Put your always heavily damaged ship at the top. However this increases the chances of the heavy hitters being taiha at the night battle before their turn comes. Also make sure to fully maximize you supports for taking out the imps so that your ships will focus on Artillery Imp and DJ hime.
Wow, done in my second try. This time I used boss node support only. Fuck the normal node support. Didn't trigger at the node where my Sendai got OHKO'd (did I mention I sparkled her? lololol fucking aimbot AI) and when they do trigger their shots mostly miss. I dunno if I got lucky or what but clearing it felt easier than I thought.

Boss appeared when gauge was at 587 (I checked with plastic ruler plus math skillz and confirmed with KC3 Kai) instead of dumbshit cannon imp + boss node support triggered + all ships green health at boss node + Atago shoosting boss at night eventhough she was flagship triggering critical. How many virgins must I now sacrifice for my luck to continue?
Also, yeah I put a CA as flagship this time instead of the last ship slot as advised by many. They used to get oneshot'd right off the bat during shelling phase. I also brought along another CA this time to be placed at the last slot as insurance in case things go horribly wrong. One thing I find surprising was that my fleet wiped out the boss planes during airstrike phase without AACI or fighter planes. Must be that superior Maya anti-air going to work. Add that to my lucky streak.
I definitely maximized my boss support. I ran Nagato, Mutsu, Akagi, Kaga and two DDs. (You know what, I just realized I had Hiryuu and Shokaku sparkled and ready for boss support but somehow I forgot about them...) My boss support alone cost me 194 fuel and 412 ammo per expedition. Used it twice. And of course there's the cost of sparkling every ship I used. Ya know, sparkling BBs and CVs at 1-1 hurts so bad cuz it feels extremely wasteful lol.

I did not take breaks. I had the least luck in all the players since when I was at my golden moment, DJ Hime did not show up 2 times causing me to do everything the hard way. No sparkles Support Fleets all chuuha because It was a compromise, they hit harder when in chuuha for some reason. Support fleets were golden too.
Boss support fleet took out two imps, easily killed the first one. Art imp got knocked out during tropedoes phase and Myoukou and Kongou took it home. they were last in my fleet. Node I was dangerous to me than Node F. Node F was easy once I got it right.
I gotta agree with you about CVLs. I had one in my fleet during my runs at depleting the boss gauge and they helped a lot in providing additional firepower to ensure I reach the boss in one piece. When I ditched the CVL for a CA in my final run, for an additional T3 boss killer, I felt unsafe and at the mercy of RNG. I'll try your heavy fleet if I ever complete the event and want to farm E2 node F. Any rare drops from your runs through node F though?
How far into the event are you now? Is E3 a tough one?
Also, have you spent real money on this game yet? All my life I've played F2P games like these casually and I have never spent real money on any of them... Until later tonight when I get home. I'm gonna fucking buy me some extra fucking ship slots.
E-3 is easy. I got Shimakaze, Isokaze and Mutsu from E-2.
I haven't spent real money on it yet, I will someday. E-3 is the easiest map in the event, I'm pretty sure of that. Plus, you could get U-511 easily. You know, she has the WG we really needed to beat DJ Hime. Farmimng for her is recommended for the future. No last dance in E-3, you can pretty much ignore BabaaHime and atleast get an A rank. But to make sure you're in the advantage, use a really good boss support. Just use your E-2 boss support
Whoa Isokaze, nice. Why is Ancient Destroyer Princess called 'BabaaHime'? Yeah it definitely is easy, I did E3 in 5 runs. First two runs with ships that had leftover sparkles from before had to stop at preboss node because of super torpedos from PT Imps that OHKOs any DD in sight. Next three runs I got lucky with them and I was done. My CAVs became carriers and airstriked the shit out of the enemy. I always went to night battle because I wanted an S rank so I could deplete the gauge quicker. No support epedition was used.
Do I need Wurfs for E4 onwards? My main goal is getting Iowa and I don't wanna waste any unecessary resources if I don't need to. If Wurfs are needed then I guess there's no choice. I also thought I should farm for an Akizuki class for AACI capabilities in the next few maps.

Just follow the guides, have reppus for LBAS and focus it at Node F if you are using a Carrier TF. Calculate the numbers of your map gauge so you don;t have to go through the hellish Last dance where the first node always snipes two ships and if you survive the normal nides and get to CV Hime. You're pretty much screwed if you get to her in last dance. I had to turn my back at Houshou for that map.
I farmed E3 and E2 a bit last night. Got nothing from E3 but got Isokaze on my second run at E2. Still need to go back there for the Akizuki class DDs. Also depleted the gauge for E4 and on my final rage run Tokitsukaze dropped at preboss. I still haven't fully depleted it though. It feels like the closer I get to depleting the gauge the higher the difficulty of the enemies I encounter. On my first run, the torpedo bombers friggin oneshot BB Hime, and I was like 'heh this E4 ain't too bad'. And then by the last attempt, shit was getting stupid. Tsu class wipes out my fucking planes. Red health enemies oneshot my poor ships. These threepieces of shit plays super dodgeball. But at least something good happened and that is Tokitukaze.
On one run I was tempted to sink my Chitose seaplane tender at preboss because I was so close and because she was only level 22. Only reason I didn't is because of all the stats I've given her through modernization.
@Mytsywhich sounds like absolute bullshit lol. i wish my ships are like that. what does luck do for ships that aren't DDs anyway? increase evasion? increase crit chance? increase accuracy? cuz if so then I might start maruyuing my BBs and CAs.
