Hello, it's Nenohi. I hope my name wasn't hard to read, yes?

Ye~s! It's Nenohi. Have you memorized my name? hey? Hey~! (Kai)

The whole dialogue is riddled with puns; given note 3, we should let it be.
Library Intro
I'm Nenohi, second ship of the Hatsuharu class built under the Maru-1 program. I'm working hard to organize many things for my 21st Destroyer Corps sister ships, such as Hatsuharu sister ships. What? Submarines ...? I REALLY hate them! The Maru-1 Program was the IJN's first of four pre-war buildups. Nenohi was very active in Vietnam before the Pacific War started. USS Triton, a submarine, sank Nenohi in the Aleutians; not suprisingly Inazuma rescued the Nenohi's survivors.
What day is today?
it's Nenohi day.
Kyou wa nannohi? Nenohi dayo.

A bad pun, since Nenohi's name contains the word for "day", and sounds similar to "what day?"

Yeah, I love the admiral too!

It's Nenohi♪ Ne-no-hi~ Neh-Noh-Hee~ (Kai)

Ahgaa~ somehow Nenohi, is bored... I'll admit that I'm bored. Let's do something Admiral, anything♪
⇧ for Kai form, plays Base form's Secretary Married line when sparkled

I wonder what kind of day today will be~

Hey, Nenohi's worried about you too, you know? Admiral, let's take a break every now and then, okay? Nenohi will rest too~♪ (Kai)
Hey, do you know what day it is today? ...Gee, it's Nenohi! No, that's not it, it's the day Nenohi will confess. To who, you asked? Admiral, you meanie!

Mmhm... you give up yet? Nenohi has more than just looks, you know!
Minor damaged(1)
Argh... how frustrating...
Minor damaged(2)
Hyan!
≥Moderately damaged
Shooting at Nenohi, what a meanie!
Sorry... Admiral... I'll... leave first...
Better translation? P.S. Probably refers to the Japanese work etiquette, where leaving before your boss does is considered dishonourable at worst, and a misconduct at best, thus there is a verbal formula used in such a case, as the employee uses the formal phraseological sentence which can be roughly translated as apologizing for leaving early (or going ahead, in some cases). That said, many shipgirls have a variant of this as their parting words for being sunk. On a sidenote, even though the sentence is now more of a formality with next to no original semantics, in a hindsight it does give you a feel that the shipgirls expect their admiral to die first (i.e. "sorry that I leave to the underworld before you do" - I'd expect something like that from Akebono in the very extreme), doesn't it?

  • Nenohi wears a serafuku-like garment similar to the one worn by Murakumo and black short pants underneath it. She wears bandages on her arms and legs. Her rigging is riddled with mechanical parts similar to those on Hatsuharu or Tenryuu. She has pink hair with a tiny ahoge on top and lavender eyes.

  • Nenohi is a cheerful girl that speaks in third person, similar to Haruna or Ayanami. She is well known for making puns related to her name, as evidenced in her dialogue.

  • Sunk in action, July 5, 1942 southeast of Attu Island, Alaska (52°15′N 173°51′E).
  • Her name means "New Year's Day".
    • It was first carried by the twentith Torpedo Boat Destroyer of the First Kamikaze class in 1906.

  • Composition: A48.
  • Sortie (Clearance): B37.
