This is a Guide with recommendations on what Expeditions you should be doing to gather the resources you need. Some players try to challenge the Event with Soft-Cap Resources but that's mostly for veterans, and not recommended for beginners. For Beginners or players who just aren't used to doing Events much yet, it is recommended for you to do your expeditions diligently to gain as much as resources for the Event.

Outline of Resources Recommended

Admirals who will be doing Easy mode straight all the way

  • Fuel: At least 50,000
  • Ammo: At least 50,000
  • Steel: At least 40,000~50,000
  • Bauxite: At least 40,000~50,000
  • Instant Repair Bucket: At least 400 to 500+

Admirals who will be doing Medium or Hard mode, or mix of both

  • Fuel: At least 70,000
  • Ammo: At least 70,000
  • Steel: At least 70,000 to 100,000
  • Bauxite: At least 50,000~70,000
  • Instant Repair Bucket: At least 600+

The basis of the minimum resources stated above is that YOU WILL NOT BE RUSHING THROUGH THE EVENT and will take things slowly and patiently throughout the Event period. If you plan on rushing through the Event, you will probably need a lot more than the stated above.

Admirals who wish to rush through the Event + Farm the Maps for Drops in Medium / Hard:

  • Fuel: At least 100,000 to 120,000
  • Ammo: At least 90,000 to 120,000
  • Steel: At least 80,000+
  • Bauxite: At least 70,000 to 90,000+
  • Instant Repair Bucket: About 700+

Which Expeditions to do to gain these resources?

This all depends on how much expeditions you have pulled through and I hope you have been diligently trying to unlock as much as Expeditions as possible. If not then now is the time to open up new Expeditions as soon as possible.

Recommended expeditions depending on the Resources needed

Fuel

  • Expedition 5 - 1 CL 2 DD 3 SS(V) (ALL SPARKLED)
    • Recommended to spam as much as possible throughout the day if you require Fuel. Good to farm Ammos as well. This Expedition does not have any Ammo cost, and is very cheap in terms of expense. Use 4 Daihatsu if available.
  • Expedition 9 - 1 CL 2 DD 3 SS(V) (ALL SPARKLED)
    • Solely Fuel focused. Only recommended to do if you will be offline or away from computer for at least 4 to 5 hours. Does not cost Ammo. If you need to be away longer, do this a few more times using your KanColle Android. Use 4 Daihatsu if available.
  • Expedition 21 - 1 CL 4 DD 1 SS (ALL SPARKLED - 3 ships must be equipped with 1 Drum Canister each.)
    • Sparkling isn't mandatory because this Expedition can gain GREAT SUCCESS by itself as it has Drum Canisters as a mandatory requirement. However this is only via RNG and is random. The more consistent way is to use 6 ships all sparkled. However in terms of expense, spamming Expedition 5 is way more recommended, so this Expedition is more preferrable if you are either lazy, or will be away for 2.5~3 hrs. Use 4 Daihatsu if available.
  • Expedition 24 - 1 CL 4 DD 1 SS (ALL SPARKLED)
    • This Expedition is mostly good if you will be away for like 8~9 hours. Good to do while sleeping. It also gives a small amount of Bauxite as well. By having some Drum Canister equipped, this Expedition can gain GREAT SUCCESS by itself without Sparkling, but I would recommend doing this with a Full Sparkled Fleet for a larger income. Use 4 Daihatsu if available.
  • Expedition 36 - 2 AV 1 CL 1 DD 2 SS (ALL SPARKLED)
    • Mostly only for Sleeping Hours or if you will be away for 9 hours. The Expense is a bit high because of the AVs, but it also gives small amount of Bauxite as well, so it's mostly good to do if you will be away for long hours but want some Fuel + Bauxite at once. Use 4 Daihatsu if available.
  • Expedition 38 - 5 DD 1 SS or 6 DD (ALL SPARKLED - 4 Ships must be equipped with 2 Drum Canister each.)
    • Similar to Expedition 21. Gives Steel as well. Doesn't require sparkling because it can gain GREAT SUCCESS by itself as it has Drum Canisters as a mandatory requirement. However this is only via RNG and is random. It's more consistent to gain GREAT SUCCESS by sparkling your entire fleet. Very good to spam alongside 5 or 21. Good to do during the Day. Use 4 Daihatsu if available.

Ammo

  • Expedition 2 - 4 DD or SS(V)
    • The Expedition majority of players spam not only for ammo, but also for Buckets. Spam during the day as much as possible.
  • Expedition 5 - 1 CL 2 DD 3 SS(V) (ALL SPARKLED)
    • Recommended to spam as much as possible throughout the day. This Expedition does not have any Ammo cost, and is very cheap in terms of expense. Use 4 Daihatsu if available.
  • Expedition 13 - 1 CL 4 DD 1 SS(V) (ALL SPARKLED)
    • Not really done often, but is an option to take when you must be away for like 4~5 hours. Recommended to use an all sparkled fleet.
  • Expedition 37 - 1 CL 5 DD (ALL SPARKLED - 4 Ships must be equipped with 1 Drum Canister each.)
    • Similar to Expedition 21 and 38. Very good to spam alongside 2, 5, or 21. Good to do during the Day. Use 4 Daihatsu if available.

Steel

  • Expedition 37 - 1 CL 5 DD (ALL SPARKLED - 4 Ships must be equipped with 1 Drum Canister each.)
    • Similar to Expedition 21 and 38. Doesn't require sparkling because it can gain GREAT SUCCESS by itself as it has Drum Canisters as a mandatory requirement. However this is only via RNG and is random. It's more consistent to gain GREAT SUCCESS by sparkling your entire fleet. Gives Ammo also, so good to do if you are after both steel and ammo. Just from spamming this Expedition, you gain tons of Steel. Use 4 Daihatsu if available.
  • Expedition 38 - 5 DD 1 SS or 6 DD (ALL SPARKLED - 4 Ships must be equipped with 2 Drum Canister each.)
    • Similar to Expedition 21. Doesn't require sparkling because it can gain GREAT SUCCESS by itself as it has Drum Canisters as a mandatory requirement. However this is only via RNG and is random. It's more consistent to gain GREAT SUCCESS by sparkling your entire fleet. Just from spamming this Expedition, you gain tons of Steel. Gives Fuel as well. Use 4 Daihatsu if available.

Bauxite

  • Expedition 6 - 4 DD or SS
    • SPAM SPAM SPAM! Spam this Expedition like your life depends on it to gain Bauxite! During the day this is the only expedition that you can count on to gain Bauxite. You can do this Expedition with a sparkled fleet (6 ships) and 4 Daihatsu, but it is extremely tedious to sparkle the fleet members to spam a 40 minutes expedition. So unless you are extremely desperate for Bauxite, you can just do it without sparkle with 4 ships, but bringing 4 Daihatsu is very recommended.
  • Expedition 11 - 2 DD 4 SS (ALL SPARKLED)
    • Mostly good if you will be offline or away for around 5 to 6 hours. Good Expedition to do while you sleep as well. But for a good gain, it is recommended to do this with a full sparkled fleet and 4 Daihatsu.
  • Expedition 15 - 2 AV/CVL 2 DD 2 SS (ALL SPARKLED)
    • Only good to do while sleeping or if you will be totally away for 12 hours. Recommended to do it with all Sparkled fleet and 4 Daihatsu.
  • Expedition 35 - 2 AV/CVL 1 CA 1 DD 2 SS (ALL SPARKLED)
    • Only good to do while sleeping or if you will be away for 7~8 hours. Recommended to do it with all Sparkled fleet and 4 Daihatsu.

Buckets

  • Expedition 2 - 4 DD or SS
    • SPAM SPAM SPAM! You want buckets? Spam this expedition all day! Please beware that whether you gain Bucket or not from this Expedition is entirely RNG, so there are chances where you don't get Buckets 10 times in a row...
  • Expedition 4 - 1 CL 2 DD
    • Mostly a secondary support of gaining Buckets alongside Expedition 2. Do it if you really need a lot of buckets.

Ships to consider using when doing Expeditions

You should consider using the ships stated below in order to save resources even if they seem minor compared to standard consumption rates. In the long run it will save you a lot of resources, especially when more larger consumptions are involved (Ex. Expedition 37 and 38)

Destroyer (DD)

  • Mutsuki-class [Regular, Kai, and Kai Ni] (Lowest Ammo Consumption): Recommended for expeditions that has ammo consumptions.
  • Kasumi [Kai Ni / Kai Ni B]: Able to equip Daihatsu Landing Crafts. Able to boost up Expeditions she is in by equipping 3 copies of it. You may only have 4 maximum in a fleet.
  • Verniy: Able to equip Daihatsu Landing Crafts. However Verniy has higher consumption than other Destroyers listed in this section, so unless you got no other options, you can consider using her for expeditions until you level the other Destroyer(s) for Expedition.
  • Mutsuki Kai Ni, Kisaragi Kai Ni and Satsuki Kai Ni: Able to equip Daihatsu Landing Crafts.
  • Ooshio Kai Ni: Also able to equip Daihatsu Landing Crafts and in fact comes with one as stock equipment. However in her case, she requires a Blueprint to become Kai Ni.
  • Kawakaze Kai Ni : Able to equip Daihatsu Landing Crafts.
  • Asashio Kai Ni D : Able to equip Daihatsu Landing Crafts.
  • Arashio Kai Ni : Able to equip Daihatsu Landing Crafts.

Light Cruiser (CL)

  • Tenryuu and Tatsuta [Non-Kai] (Lowest Ammo Consumption): Recommended for expeditions that requires CL.
  • Yuubari [Non-Kai] (Lowest Fuel Consumption): Recommended for Expeditions that requires a CL and doesn't cost any ammo (Ex. Expedition 5 and 9)
  • Abukuma Kai Ni: Allows use of 3 Daihatsu Landing Craft for 15% Extra Bonus in Resource Gain from expedition she participates in.
  • Kinu Kai Ni : Able to equip Daihatsu Landing Craft and she has a Built-In Daihatsu as well. 20% Bonus Cap still applies however.

If Expedition requires Aircraft Carrier (CV)

  • Houshou (CVL) (Lowest Fuel and Ammo consumption): Recommended for Expeditions that require CV(L) (Ex. Expedition 15)
  • Ryuuhou (CVL) [Non-Kai] (Low Fuel and Ammo consumption): Nearly same consumption as Houshou. Good to use for Expedition 15
  • Chitose (AV) and Chiyoda (AV) [Non-Kai] (Lowest Fuel and Ammo Consumption). Recommended for Expeditions that requires CV(L) or AV specifically. (Ex. Expedition 36 and 40).
  • Commandant Teste (AV) [Kai] Has 4 slots which means she alone can equip 4 Daihatsu for Expeditions, where you won't really have to use 2 ships that can equip Daihatsu for an Expedition that involves AVs.

Submarines (SS)

  • All non-remodeled Submarines except I-401. Maruyu should especially be considered to be used in Expeditions with the "Any Ships" option as they have very low fuel and ammo consumption (Ex. Expedition 2 and 6). You can choose to use SSVs for Expeditions that do not have any Ammo consumptions (Ex. Expedition 2, 5, 9, and 11)

Maps to Farm for Resources

Orel Cruising (World 2-3)

Great way to obtain Fuel and Ammo, although it is mostly Fuel focused. The map has two nodes available majority of the time that will give you around 15 to 45 fuel per node. Recommended to use about 2 to 3 Submarines above level 20+ that are non-remodeled but maxed in stats via modernization. If you have U-511 or Ro-500 along with two New High Pressure-Temperature Steam Boiler, she can solo the map to obtain resources, which is very profitable in terms of gain and loss. DO NOT USE SSV!

Getting more Resources: Sparkling & Daihatsu Landing Craft

Sparkling

Using a Sparkled Fleet for your Expedition gives the potential to gain 50%+ more resources than the default resource given. For players who wish to gain more resources than the normal amount, they should consider using a fully Sparkled fleet for more resource gain.

  • Expedition 16 (Sparkled + 4x Daihatsu)
  • Expedition 15 (Sparkled + 4 Daihatsu)
  • Expedition 11 (Sparkled + 4x Daihatsu)

However please do mind that it is 50 percent Bonus, which means that if the original value of the resource given is low, then it might not be a good idea to use a sparkled fleet for that expedition (Ex. using a sparkled fleet for Expedition 2 isn't exactly a good idea as the sparkled fleet's morale will deplete fast).

However if you are desperate for resources and let's say you need Bauxite (Because it's practically one of the hardest resource to gain fast as compared to Fuel and Ammo), then using a Sparkled Fleet for Expedition #6 can be somewhat good if you are willing to sparkle the fleet quite a lot (120 bauxite per 40min).

It is recommended that for 99% Great Success Rate, you should use 6 Ships fully sparkled in a fleet, as using any lower won't guarantee the Great Success (Sometimes even with 6 ships via extremely rare RNG, there is chance for it to fail...)

Daihatsu Landing Craft

LandingCraftLanding Craft

Daihatsu-class Landing Craft (LC) is obtainable from Akitsu Maru
LHA Akitsu Maru 161 Battle
, Arashio Kai Ni
DD Arashio Kai Ni 490 Battle
Ooshio Kai Ni
DD Ooshio Kai Ni 199 Battle
, Kinu Kai Ni
CL Kinu Kai Ni 487 Battle
, and Abukuma Kai Ni
CL Abukuma Kai Ni 200 Battle
as stock equipment. Each equipped LC will net an additional 5% gain in resources from expeditions, up to 20%. If upgraded via Akashi's Improvement Arsenal, you can bypass the 20% limit.

Total resource gain is multiplicative with great success bonus. Combined with great success bonus, the net resource gain is calculated as 50%+7.5% per LC. Thus the max resource bonus is an additional 80% with great success and 4 Landing Crafts.

Please know that upgrading them to the Daihatsu Landing Craft (Type 89 Medium Tank & Landing Force) and any further will decrease their extra resource gain. Keep the regular ones at MAX and only upgrade them if you need to upgrade them to turn them into combat-type equipment.
