    • Oh my...now I know that people can still vote even if the thread is closed. Welp, thank god I didn't put my hope up too high for the ending. Now, I can summarize the whole series in 1 sentence:

      Wtfisthis

It's not the worst anime ever that's for sure but damm does it took a lot of willpower to watch through every episode every week. I am not expecting a masterpiece as some have been saying but I expect a decent work coming out from Diomedia and flying DOG (you guys have quite a number of projects already) and also after quite a long delay.

On the other hand, I don't think I should be too harsh since they are trying to produce a series with an already set characters with no storyline except knowing that they're based from IJN ships (which probably lead them to using historical or game references a lot). Making a stand alone series is hard and fans will be pissed if they ruin some characters.

All in all, if BluRay helps them get 2nd season they seriously need to one-up their story department...go play KC or someething. No number of character can help the show with a story that doesn't know what it wants to do. The OP is great though.

    • Didn't expect the 6th option to be there. They should've just done a SoL/Comedy like Lucky Star or Nichijou rather than trying to force any form of plot into the show; the show is just too cheesy to bear. Then there's the battle scene which I doubt will be as epic or brilliant as FMA given that it involved anthropomorphic warships that can do nothing but firing cannons/launching torpedoes/planes. There's plenty of gag materials to be had from the amount of doujins churned out by people who actually cares.

Oh, and it's a pity you didn't copy this survey . Their options are just downright hilarious.

    • well to be honest i'm happy that one of my favourite game got animated.. but they should've done it much more better..

      >at first i enjoy listening to the game catchphrases in the anime itself.. but as the episode went on and on.. it's no longer enjoyable, it's like they're overusing it too much.. it began to creep me out..

      >the battle is also kind of good at first.. but become less and less thrilling as the anime went on.. they centered the anime on fubuki so much.. yet after all that training that she did and after being remodeled.. she still shot wo-kai's plane down normally just like before she was remodeled.. and that is.. dissappointing.. honest..

      >the drama is lacking.. kisaragi's death especially.. a character that barely have screen time would rarely have a good impact on the audience..

      >what's it called.. the mood?.. after kisaragi's death they just suddenly have a huge turnback on the next episode.. i was like

      "oh she sunk.. poor kisaragi"

      "oh here comes kongou-class eps"

"oh hoho they are rolling in like ninjas"..

"they have a singing contest too.. wow"

      "oh fubuki met mutsuki.. huh?"

"oh right, i forgot that kisaragi is dead in the previous eps"..

i'm happy if they decided to continue this up to S2.. but i worry about their current budget and fans response.. if they fail to fulfill their expectation yet again, i don't want to imagine what would happen.. they should really try much much more harder than this.. they already have a "gold mine" in their hand, it's a shame that they can't process it correctly that it becomes such a waste now..

5/10 i give it five because i already played the game, i won't even touch this anime if i didn't play the game already before the anime was aired..

    • Kancolle ep 12, directed by Michael Bay

give freedom to the land of freedom. Not once, not twice, but four fucking times. BWS going easy and not actually giving her freedom back! ANd what!? second season? you better explain where the abyssal coming from. if you don't explain clearly, a lot of 'historian' is going to flame you for glorifying IJN, and make the land of freedom the bad guys. Devs, please try to be politically correct. We got a lot of fuck head on the internet. You better show obvious example like CL demon and DD hime.

suggestion: make the battle more epic by using actual naval tactics. Smoke screen, rapid firing and salvo firing, crossing the T, torpedoes paths(yes, enemy does move, so give it a bit more details). If you are going to be historical on the event, how about going a bit more in depth for the battle as well.

    • As I had no expectations for anything great or even remotely worth watching if I weren't playing the game, the anime was there for just one thing: to see the kanmusu animated. I ignored the lackluster story, ignored Fubuki (for the most part) and generally just glazed over anything that I would pick up in anything else I watch.

Kisaragi sinking in episode 3 was supposed to be an impact but...only a select few people actually care about her. I don't think a high percentage of viewers who play the game actually keep her around for more than expeditions and would scrap her if she weren't useful for those either. For viewers who don't play the game, Kisaragi was just some random skrub who got rekt in one episode after she got focus - and it was telegraphed from just about everything else that happened in the same episode. I think it was probably hilarious for a good few people because of how many death flags there were on her.

Fubuki's hardworking stuff doesn't matter to me because I don't like Fubuki much. Not much more to say there.

If you love Bucky, you should meh on this anime.

If you love Urobutcher, you should feel a bit disappoint in this anime.

If you love historical way, you should feel so ashamed on this anime.

If you love the logic, you should hate the animation's staff so much now.

    • For me the anime just have 1 word : Inconsistent at all...

-Sometimes they just want to put the game technical here and there but not being implemented wisely.

-Plot is just......I cannot even describe it. Maybe, a mess?

-Character building is mainly focus on Fubuki. Even though I like her, I kind of dislike when the shows mainly makes her shining rather than other girls.

-The fandom is too much implemented in this series and being added by the producer also(6th desdiv, Zuikaga, AkagixFubuki and so on)

-The combined fleet mechanic is a total fail!

-Wo kai FS just beaten like that? Maji?

-Airfield Hime transform into Midway Hime? Okay, that's pretty cool.

-Fanservice and yuri is blooming all over the place.

-KIsaragi resurrected as Wo? maybe but what? where's the logic? Even DD princess is better.

-Where is the sister ship of Fubuki?I guess the first season do not really focusing on this sisters ship thing.

      -The remodel scene is just.....lame.

-Fighting scene? pretty cool except the way the abyssal lost.

-Too much plotholes and carelessness on character design. Haruna's weapon in episode 1, Kaga's drinking tea scene in episode 5, Fubuki AAFD and Kirishima's weapon in last episode.

-Truk Base.... Since when 1 admiral can have 2 base?

      -Admiral face is a NO...

-To all animefans only, they really need to play the game to understand this series better. Anime is just too carefree...

-Too much unanswered questions and mysteries.

S2: Yeah but need a hell lot of improvement than this.

Rating: 5/10(The first anime that I kind of like but logically I can't give more than this. So many weakness)

@Nicky008: Well I feeled a LOT of that. Except the first and second one. And I don't even get them all...

@Nanamin: Yeah the anime was intended for Kancolle players only (I guess). But as you know people is like: "Hey this is not bad, I should recommend it" and BAM!! tons of viewers.

But for me, in my opinion, was only an average anime. With lots of acceptable thinks and LOTS of bad things. I won't cover them all, but... I think the writers should be more familiarized with the game. Of course there were funny things in a few chapters (like only 2).

And @"The Rest" (so lazy to copy the users): Yes I get this anime could be better, but as we have good animes (not gonna say), we also have VERY BAD ones (not gonna say either). And thankfully this one is somewhere in the middle. Not super boring but neither super exciting.

My only wish is that they coordinate more with Kado and DMM staff and make it better. The second season is their only chance left. And maybe they surprise us, who knows... maybe a special event stuff or something.

Personally, I think... Fubuki = plain.

So compared this. If you love the plain of her, Fubuki. Then this anime is just also plain like her too.

And, Michael Bay is the great example in the film industry for doing the trainwreck and using so excessive explosives effects in his works. I just compared between his works and this anime.

    • Unfortunately I raise my expectation too high and got myself slapped by the quality. But as a teitoku, I'm kinda happy to have S2... and I wish and I hope and I beg that they really really, really really stop messing around with the anime this time, there is no order in the sequence: in the middle of Zuikaga, was a curry... just what the f-

      1. As expect, those abyssals are standing there like training target, the writers have no idea what we went through during event period, and have no idea what is "Final form" for bosses... but most importantly, are they following the admiral's order or Akagi's plan now? In fuking one episode, I failed to digest the whole series.

      2. While they diligently focus on Fubuki in every dem episode, and they decided to skip it when she go against BWS... she practically do nothing but save Akagi and return being bland at the crucial moment, I swear my brain is laughing out loud.

      3. Even anime need some logic or else it gonna looks ugly, those DD just surround KitaOoi for eye-candy, ship-kicking is collision gfdi, they can Yuri in the middle of boss fight -_-

I cannot contain the disappointment I get, but I can only say the anime IS for non players. But they didn't wait or the cooldown after the mess and still have guts to inform us they already made S2, seriously....

Overall only manage to like ep1, 7 and 11, probably because I treat kancolle as anti-SoL type where you get taiha everywhere, but if they gonna do it, please put the fanservice or fanon in Specials or somewhere else.

Well I think, as you, that we can't be mean to it.

And I can honestly say that I only liked 2 chapters: The Kongous' amazing entrance and the Sixth Destroyer Division's cool and funny training.

And I don't know why, but of all the ships in the anime I can count my favorites with only my left hand: The Kongous as one, Hiryuu (which only appeared in the last 2 chapters), Tone (same as Hiryuu), Murasame which barely appeared, and the Akatsuki-class' funny cuteness. And speaking of Murasame... why, if Fubuki is the protagonist, why Yuudachi is in the main lead. I mean (sorry for this) but as much as I like blonde girls in anime I like Murasame but not Yuudachi. I could accept even Shiratsuyu and maybe we could see all them together sharing random stuff but not. What did the developers thought?? "Oh, just because she has Kai Ni""?? There are lots of ships that have Kai Ni.

    • Weakest anime of whatever it is I'm watching this season.  Best episode was curry but more ships needed to sink.  Series had too much pandering done poorly (except burner curry which was genius).  That there will be a second season is sadface, but I will probably watch it anyways.  We won't talk about that last episode.  Would not recommend series to other people.

    • Pros - Curry

      Cons - Everything except curry

Glad that this anime has finally end, now we just need to pretend that it has never happen. Those battle scenes are hilarious, I mean why didn't they just CG those equipment and draw the character again, it is very awkward to watch those battle scenes with those CG, unlike Yowamushi Pedal, at least I won't feel awkward to watch them cycling.

This adaption didn't fail my expectation, I thought it was just bad but it turns out to be really bad and the worst of this season and possibly this year. It really really REALLY reminded me the sole reason why I stop watching and dislike anime that is based off game and/or too much fanservice.

    • Well I was kinda dissapointed by the anime, I'm not saying the anime is bad or anything, if you liked it then that completely find nothing wrong with that, but the anime was....well it didn't live up to my expectations and thats kinda my own fault, I expected too much and in the end was left feeling dissapointed (and I think thats why a lot of kancolle players are dissapointed as well). Not sure how I feel about a second season tho but hopefully in S2 there will be:

      1. More naval action. (or a good balance between action and slice of life thats ok too)

      2. Less derp abyssals, I mean when have we ever seen a abyssal doging incoming shell or torps? Their all standing like "Oh look! a torpedo :D" BOOM!!

      3. Better plot.

      4. Fairys, I want to see at least one ep where they focus on those little guys/gals dogfighting in their zeros and shiden kai :D.

      and

5.SUBS!!! I can never imagin how they shoot their bloody torpedos hopefully they will show that in S2.

    • The script writers are just plain awful in this anime and I really don't get what's the main plot. Episode Six and moments in Episode Four aren't bad and was quite interesting to watch, but that's just about the best part of the whole film, the other part is just torturing your sanity.

One of the most disappointing part of the anime is the fact that the script writers hid the admiral away. If we look closely at the game, the actual exsistence of the admiral is crucial and the whole story could be told a lot better and a lot less awkward if the story revloves around Fubuki and the admiral, while having them both interacting with the other girls. Both of the Idolmaster animes introduced a male character into the story and the results turned out quite well, and that producer in the anime of Cinderella Girls was actually quite popular within the fans with no negative opinions.

They could have done it better if they have the courtesy to even get to study the game and know the fanbase. But they just decided it's better to shat in our faces instead.

      It sucks

Animation especially 3D is just horrible. Last episode all together with such eye-hurting quality is just too painful to see

      fckin dumb admiral wtf

No Shigure while they have Poi as one of d main sub-char

Overall mark 3 out of 10

It's just too horrible. I hope they do fix it in the BD, already pre-ordered it *sigh* Should have just wait before TT-TT

    • I would love to say this anime had some plots, but then, I look up the production team on MAL and I'm not seeing any scriptwriter or storyboard writer in the Staff. Just looking at the list and I can see why KanColle anime has horrible CGs, horrible plot and horrible everything except OST.

For a team of merely 8 members, they have 4 music-related roles, 3 administrative roles and 1 character design. There's simply no art director, animation director, and zero writers.

So yes, they couldn't have possibly known what they were doing there. If anything, the story progression was all over the place. We have in every episode cute-girl-doing-cute-things for the first one third, fanservice in the second one third and mediocre melodrama in the last one third (which was immediately hit with Anti-climatica silliness in the next episode, or worse, resolved in the same episode). Not to mention Charisma Break every other episode, and Impending-Doom vs. Plot Armor in every sortie.

At some points, I have to wonder if there was any cliché tropes they haven't deployed in the anime.

    • To be honest....not the best anime I have watch but not also the worst also....just average I guess. Not much to say but they could have done a lot better job with the plot cause some episode just felt like a hollow filler like in naruto or worst.... some characters lack the development or was focus for a while then disappeared or something like that. Also WTF happened to the admiral when he disappeared!?

    • i dont think it'll work giving a serious plot on the anime. i mean, every ppl that play the game will know the details and for ppl that dont play the game will wondering, "what?" the theme warship like Arpeggio the Blue Steel can still do it better on serious plot because the details are pretty make sense in manga.

as this game's anime i think it suits better for funny everyday life of the girls and the shitty admirals, if they want to make it serious plot, many ppl'll ask in mind the logic of these ship girls fighting and thats where things doesnt match

i read some fan doujin on danbooru :

      - make Tatsuta became dangerous yandere to the admirals

      - Shimakaze, Amatsukaze, Bismarck, Prinz Eugen wondering if their cloth are too revealing around the base, till some subs like i-58 show how openly normal she is in the base with swimsuit

      - Masochist admiral loves it getting abused by shipgirls

and many more to make it interesting

    • I guess we all had high expectations about the anime and this always lead to be disappointed when facing the real thing. Still I find the anime entertaining as i get to see on of my favorite game animated, apart from this I have to say that they screwed up on many thing.

Half the fleet have yuri complex.

Incompetent admiral that leave all the work to nagato and have almost no contact with other shipgirl.

Visual error too many to pass on them especially on episode 12.

The batlle while at first had some thrill turned into shooting range session, again episode 12.

I get that they wanted to do an animated series to give a background for the game but they mixed the SOL part with story part, fanservice and this omnipresent yuri aura all togheter giving us this. It would have been better if they did something like full metal panic wich divided the funny parts from the story and made a series on it's own, in this case they should have done the SOL in some episode and concentrate with the story on other. Especially if you want to show some game mechanics like expeditions, under this aspect the curry episode was a a very good SOL episode.

One last thing they say that the anime is set in a sort of modern time in wich these abissals came out and took controll of the sea and humanity started using sing shipgirl to take the sea back, there is still some kind of sense that bring back memory of their past (and their death). It's not a reproduction of WWII and I don't get those people that wanted an accurate historical course for the anime, wich would lead to the death of all the shipgirls.

    • Let's see... To the people that says the "script" sucks and bla, bla, bla. I'll say: Well they didn't have the luck of having an original manga, like Pokemon, TLOZ, and Kirby (yes, even kirby has one) so they have nothing to be the "base" of the plot. So I can deal with it. But what I can't deal with, and I'm in part agree with Alph27, is that the anime is based in a "TCG" like game, so for me is like Pokemon. Find ships, train them, and make them battle against the "bad girls" and other ships, while, obviously, not concentrating in 1 only. Also, as I stated time ago with someone (if I find him I'll put here) the fairies deserve LOTS AND LOTS of glory. Not the useless 1st carrier or 5th carrier. Those poor little creatures die in hords while doing Carrier's job. I don't know but I think the only ship I heard a "thanks" to the Fairies is Yamato. WTF?!? And definitely I need to see the Subs torpedoes killing everybody, those things are deadly. And we wanna see real battling with real deadly ships. Not just standing there, waiting to be killed (sunk actually). I think they should improve that point specially if they continue a naval battle anime like this.

    • In all honestly I didn't mind it too much, mainly because I didn't expect much from a game that had no plot to begin with. I just wish there were more battles, and serious ones too with more enemy aggression. The idea of trying to challenge fate was good and could have been used in episodes other than the last. Episode 3 was, as said before, a 'Madoka' thing. The shock factor wasn't much because too many of the episodes didn't showcase anyone else sinking. The more sunk the better.

I'm not a 'hardcore' anime or KanColle fan so I found it easier to enjoy it. The CG didn't bother me because they used it in Love Live and I can see why, mainly because it's easier. And if you want to look at a game that actually had plot but had a crappy anime, then look at Dramatical Murder. The standards were set pretty low for me so at least this looked nice. I'd give the KanColle anime a firm 6/10.

    • Like how every anime these days are animated. One rule have been drilled into my mind:

Don't ever get your expectations high! 'Cause it will just disappoint you in the end.

I didn't have much expectation ever since the anime was announce. I've watched too many anime adaptation of several of my favorie series getting ruined. Some was quite good but most of it were just dumb and boring.

I've seen good adaptation from a game but this was just plain meh... there were lot of problems to begin with. I'm not gonna say it 'cause I want to avoid conflict of opinions.

This anime... if you turn off those attitudes of being so harsh on it, expecting too much, or just being plain judgemental on it. It may produce some change.

I mean, just like those elders from Elders React, just enjoying what they are being showed without much care at all. If you watch anime these days then I'm sure doing it the same way would make a change.

Now about this episode. Complete plain and boring. Now those who enjoyed, good for you sir/madam. There were only two and a half good things about this. First and second, Nagato and Ooi. They just owned the episode. Shitty Admiral teased us with Taihou's appearance in the last episode was already bad. Now that she appeared, she was just plain background character.

There's so much I want to say but I'll stop right here.

5.5/10 stars fo this... I hope the season two they would take a good look in the fandom itself and try to exploit it for the show to be more enjoyable. I'm sure the first season's target audience is just children... =/

      Watch Blue Steel you casuals.

    • Fighting off fate was such a brilliant way to save the series. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if I missed anything but episode 12 was overbooked and confusing. Yamato, Nagato, Mutsu, Zuikaku and Shoukaku seemed enough to do the Big Heroes moment. Taihou, still pretty okay as a hidden trump card. But then everyone (except Shimakaze, ironically) suddenly showed up who had no business there. The power of friendship? Well, okay... but it seemed more like a shooting gallery in there towards the end with no actual retaliation.

The high point of tension from episode 11 was immediately deflated. It turned into a forced patronization (in my opinion). Pulling the fate card should have been done earlier, to be honest. By then it became something akin to an asspull (pardon the choice of words). I feel like they had something... Like picking up the ball, setting it up for a slam dunk, but then they decided to pass the ball around. By the time they set it up again, they're already down by 20 points.

It still has its fun moments. Scenes where I genuinely laughed at the gags, and scenes where I felt intensity and drama.

I don't think I've said anything that hasn't already been said... ah well.

7/10, because I am a very generous person.

In overall, this anime deserves a perfect 10/10 since the battles are climatic and the comedy is very funny, and the plot is epic; all of which are PERFECT.

pros: nice OP+ED, introduce the real use of ingame stuff (flamethrower, bucket, ...), follow the fandom (nagamon), some episodes are nice (especially 6)

cons: too many nonsense (would take a day to list them all), the battle is just bad, the abyssal ships (except DDs) are just training dummy,

ep 12 literaly fck everything: fck gameplay mechanic, fck history (henderson airfield become midway island), fck logic (if they change the history of MI, at least give those CV some good plane)

tl;dr: if they keep the writting staff, they should end this anime with an OVA. It's a pain to watch the next season with the current staff

    • The anime is a big massive dissapointment...i knew it from day one ever since they start release the trailer...the hint is there...it will be serious, grim story, fill with war and anger toward abyssal fleet (the animation quality and fight scene speak for itself)

They think if you slap in some serious storyline, talk about operation FS, operation MO, sunk a destroyer, while at the same time, putting game mechanic (bucket, expedition), nagamon and poi, people will take this anime seriously. No they won't

Just stop it, seriously, stop.... 2nd season will be disaster if they keep rehersing same formula. Why no one see the potential in making it slice of life anime? not only they can introduce a lot more kanmusu and give them a fitting personality without drying out the joke, abyssal fleet would be a lovable character too, they would not be doing nothing but standing all day long, trying to look cool but getting their ass kicked in non-climatic way.

5/10 - The show is a train wreck, worst than Dragonaut or Kyoshiro to towa no sora...the reason i couldnt give it 2/10 is simply because i love kancolle...

    • The anime was pretty much what I expected the anime to be given that it was made from a free to play web browsing game.

I think a bunch of you guys are looking after too much #edge, which in that case you should just look up Hetz fanart instead, for all your edgey anime needs.

The final episode summed it up nicely about how I felt the anime was. A total mess wanting to put in everything.

Either they wanted to display the ship girls, the slice of life or the nit and gritty " war is hell and we are destined to repeat the history of the ships we have inherit " life. But they never got around finding a good balance between these three things.

We all know the Curry episode is the fan favourite. Because it was executed properly and didnt feel like it tried to keep these 3 things together. It focused merely on the slice of life half. With some cameo for the Melon and Haguro and some other.

I think the anime would have been much better if they either focused on the military war part. i.e. more stuff like Akagi's events from episode 11 and the failed attack on the Airfield Hime (like the #edge cravers you all are).  OR if they focused more on the slice of life part that was the benevolent curry episode. If it was more SoL we could have less fighting scenes but more concentrated ones, maybe even with dire results. Not like Kisaragi that we (the viewers) never got to get attached to and supposed to feel something when they die after 10 seconds of screentime. Now Kisaragi was as present as Mutsuki and Yuudachi during Fubuki's " level up " part of the anime. And sunk in say ep5, that would have made much more impact.

For being a cash cow anime for a highly popular web browser game it was alright for what it was. Not every kind of anime adaption of this sort can be like Rage of Bahamut from last season.

But the art was nice and felt somewhat unqiue to me by how the eyes looked, the girls were cute and those who enjoy yuri got it plenty early on from Ooi and Kitakami and later on Nagato and Mutsu.

And I for one did enjoy that they never showed the admiral, since having a "canon" depiction could  be a let down for many. And I don't know if it was an error in the subs of the ship girls calling the Admiral by male pronouns but honestly I don't care if the admiral was a dude or a chick all that much.

7/10 from me. Would like to see better focus on either the Slice of Life or amp up the story writing (along with explanations and backstory for unanswered questions) if they wanna make it with a more serious tone. By the way, Akagi's voice actor was phenomal in that part during the end of episode 11, really giving that despair feeling. Sadly the start of ep.12 turned it moot.

Here's for hoping the next season will feel more concentrated on what it wanna give to us. Now if you excuse me, I got a 1-5 mission to farm to get my Submarine waifu.

I'm so sorry for my bad taste in this anime, haha.

Because... in my 10+ years experince in watching animes and movies, I have watched so many and felt in love some action-related animus more than this title much, very much.

If you watch it just for fun (yes, for your fun) and no seriously logic and plot needed, then it should be suitable for you. Congratulation.

PS. but I love some (trainwrecked plot) action genre animes and movies too...

It's all in the characters. This anime is gold because of the characters(that's why Im playing the game). And this anime would be nothing without the characters.

I could summarize my opinion of Kancolle anime in 3 words: Arpeggio was better... If the anime could decide what it was(Slice of life, drama, comedy, w/e) instead of being unhealthy mix of everything, if it could concentrate on plot instead of trying to make the fanbase fangasm by making every popular fanon true, and if it had less plain MC maybe it would have garnered better rating then 5 from me as visible here:http://myanimelist.net/animelist/Yamiji

Yeah I kind of saw its plot (A.K.A Wikipedia) so I'm gonna tell you this: At least that game has a story. KanColle doesn't have any, AT ALL!

All we know is that the girls (Kanmusume) are based around WW2 ships, and all you gotta do is kill, I mean sunk, some Abbysal ships to.... who knows what and why. You could even be the bad guy here.

With this I know the reason why it didn't make as a supreme anime production. This thing has lack of story, I mean you could say: "Hey, but they're using historical battles around WW2". Yeah but, that's it??. All they really need is a real story to tell. And I remember the first episode that says something like this: "The humans are exiled from the oceans. This fleets of unknown ships known as the Abyssals have take control on the oceans. But the KanMusume, girls with the soul (spirit) of WW2 ships are the human's only hope". So that brings a few questions:

      1.Where are the other humans??

2.Where in the world's timeline is setled this "story"??

3.How did the humans (us, by any mean), lost control of the oceans??

And I gotta say if we had the chance to see how the humans lost control of the oceans, that'd be an awesome start for the anime. I mean, you could be able to see how humans die in battle like ants by a rock. And then, maybe this retarded humans may help the Kanmusume. I mean come on!! Actual Naval Weapons are hundreds of times better than those of the Kanmusume, which, are based on WW2 weaponery. That was almost a century ago!.

So now I have a reason to defend the Anime.

But again, I have to say that the only thing this Anime needs is a story.

    • Rofl, that's why I said checkmate. Rage of Bahamut doesn't even have ANY story, source: I play that game for 1 year. All of the crap you see in the RoB anime, are completely made up with all the cards, even the 3 main character in that one were made up card.

I don't think you understand what the problem is. The setting (Which is what you think was the problem) was never the problem, it can be made up.

The flaw of kancolle anime is that it has no focus (https://twitter.com/ku_ro_ha/status/580772827004964864). And because it has no focus, the whole anime is a complete mess, it keeps jumping between history, SoL and drama.

        Loading editor
    • Yeah, yeah, sure, whatever. But you say the focus as the base of a project, but I don't think it has to be. I'll take as an example my whole time favorite Manga and Anime: Katekyo Hitman Reborn! (or KHR). I don't know if you know it, but it starts pretty slow and a little funny. But that's where I'm going, this work started as a comedy-only series, but with the time it focused more and more in battle action style (or shounen) without forgetting its base; comedy. So I don't think every Anime/Manga needs to be focused in only one genre, like the chapter 6 of KC, it was a "special" chapter of other characters doing different stuff. And I've seen that's a favorite by default.

But let's stop this now. And if you didn't even read the before, let me say this and please think about it:

-Maybe this work was like Super Smash Bros.: It was a experiment to see how it fitted in VG industry.

Maybe they were watching how the audience reacted to this. And maybe, after this, they're gonna cancel it at any time, because they have nothing to lose now. I saw that someone posted that there are no writers at all, yes, why would they take the trouble of hiring writers if it was only a test??

-And where did I get that from?? Check DidYouKnowGaming.com . They post VG trivia every day. Really you should check it. There might be something you didn't even knew or thinked.

    • Yeah, an anime can focus on many genre, but it need to set foot on what it trying to be...kancolle is a load of mess, it didnt know what it trying to be. Just haphazardly slap every obligatory eps in hoping to satisfy everyone.

Kancolle anime have writter, they called him Hanada Jukki.....anime is expensive project, they aint gonna save penny by not hiring writter. Anime main target is to make it big on TV and hopefully get big sales in BD and a lot of merchandise licensing.....what kind of experiment you are trying to do to derive away from this main business model? just make random s*** anime and walk away like a boss, losing million dollar in the process?

You are comparing two different things...Super Smash Bros was an experiment in game "genre", they didnt do anything different.... every game company want to come out with something new and fresh. and Nintendo did cross brawl first, so kudos to that.

Which part of Kancolle anime ep look like experimenting to you? if you want to bring up point on super smash bros being "experiment product", at least bring up anime title that experimenting stuff that is not norm to anime fans... "like killing mahou shoujo", "raping kids: ima soko ni iru boku", "romance anime protagonist turn out to be bisexual", "full detail gore anime like elfen lied", "mix western: panty and stocking", "3d-ish style: Rakuen Tsuiho",  something that is not norm is call experimenting...

Kancolle is a mess, no direction, no clue where they going with the genre...it would be much better if you just say the anime is kinda bad but you enjoy it notheless... rather than trying to think everything like some sort of "there is meaning behind this a.k.a illuminati"

    • Sigh* Yare, yare. Looks like I loss here.

Well I don't think I have anything more to say. But for my last words in this discussion I'll say:

      - I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. For me was a good anime which, showed animated fighting scenes that, in-game never showed. It showed me how a real Kanmusume vs Abbysal fight would be, not the most exciting (as in the game) but, they were pretty good made. Now, the lack of a proper MC was one of my 1st complains, and definitely the girls on the show is the 2nd. Now, I don't dislike them all, one of my favorite DDs seemed to be a funny character, and I mean very funny (one thumb up if you guess) and definitely the chaps where other characters are introduced or more easily they ARE the chap were very good (4 and 6).

I gotta say, for all the Animes I've seen there are good ones *cough* (KHR), there are some really bad ones *cough* (SnS). (Sorry I disliked it that much). This one (KC) is in the middle, and I still enjoy watching the stupid plans of the Kongous and the weird past of Ashigara. So for the final sentence I'll say: I'm gonna give this Anime a deserved 6.2830/10. If is true that it wasn't worth it producing, just think about the effort putted on it. The money spent, sure you didn't waste your money but, what if YOU were that one. You were like: "Man, I gotta recover the money. I should do something!!" and the answer: A Sequel. Well I don't see very atractive that sequel, but I'll give it a chance, why no?? Maybe is better, maybe no. Only the future will tell us.

Ufff~ kind of huge right?? Crap. Oh well, to "finish it!!" already (MK STYLE BABY) I'll say that is like any regular anime; some people likes it some doesn't. But that doesn't stops it to be good.

The only thing I wish to be in this sequel is my Favorite Kanmusume: Hacchan. Is all I beg for!! Please!! I want her!!

As for the whole anime, i was like meh... Just watch it and that is it be it enjoyable or not. They should have improve more on many ways but i somehow sense that they have a lot of "political" decision making problem behind the scene, such as not casting beaver, mess-up 12, casting voice line limits, urobutcher and more

    • @sesarin:

I mentioned "focus", which was the first thing in this tweet: https://twitter.com/ku_ro_ha/status/580772827004964864. If you do not understand JP, let me make it short:

      1. Anime has no focus.

      2. Failed to adapt the original material from the game to the anime.

      3 Script sux

4 is subjective (4 is about Yura not in the anime lel)

We already talk about 1, let's talk about 2 today.

Kancolle, as a game at its core, has never been about history WW2 or ship shooting like how the anime wanted to portray. There's a reason it has "collection" in it, because it mainly was about you collecting "card" like every other CCG. The battle is a "mean" to collect the card, it's not the core engagement of the game. If this is still hazy to you, "core engagement" of a game is something unique that drives you to play that game again and again. This is why they keep introducing new girl for you to collect in kancolle.

Which is why, the way you mentioned Super Smash Bro mean you don't even understand what's the core engagement of that game, which is brawling. Head over to Extra Credits on youtube, those guys deal exclusively with gaming's genre and they might expand your head on this subject, we're here to talk anime.

If you didn't notice, it's because kancolle was a collecting game, that we always hype everytime a hint about a new girl or a new in-game quote/joke was made. Do we ever hype about historical battle in this one? Surely not, because with just 1 click away you're right at wikipedia. This is why Kuroha said they failed to adapt the original material, because the game from the start was never about historical battle.

        Loading editor
    • Which is why, the only way to adapt the original material into anime is to go slice of life/comedy genre...the 4-koma manga (Fubuki Ganmarimasu) is what people generally prefer (heck, explain the game mechanic in the anime, no matter how ridiculous it is, are much more acceptable than no explantion at all). It let you explore all the kanmusu and their personality, you can put in seqmed doujin idea of admiral being kinda pervert and love to play around with the kanmusu.

One or two eps can be dedicated for event map in more comedical way of people struggle in clearing the map. Heck couple of ep where abyssal hime bring hoppou to visit the school would be an instant hit for everyone. You can bring in new fans and let them understand why kancolle is the next touhou thing (explore more of the hidden kanmusu) and satisfy old fans by giving them what they want (shitload of kanmusu with each and their own personality)

They need to go crazy with this show...if they opted for serious tone, then by all means go all out and kill everyone and make a grim story, because if you wanna focus on WW2, there is no place for moe bulls*it, then people might appreciate the anime more (although the idea of kanmusu itself is something hard to be taken seriously, but still better than the current anime which has no focus)

        Loading editor
    • i wish they would have either went full SoL with focus on game mechanics or full drama with no regards to game mechanics... with an actual teitoku who interacts and gives orders to the shipgirls. i find it weird that nagato's the one who've been issuing orders all the time...

        Loading editor
    • They're probably trying to avoid creating a canon teitoku in light of the various fanon depictions, not to mention that they aren't the original creator and I doubt le Kancolle devs actually had a canon teitoku in mind. Still don't think a full drama show on anthropomorphic warships will work though, at least not by this studio.

    • Hm. First portion of my review is based heavily on ep 12, but since I then go on to the series as a whole, I'm pretty sure it goes in here.

About two minutes in when Kongou and Hiei hugged and I immediately thought "Hug later! You're in battle!" I knew this was something I didn't really want to watch.

Never has so little been done in 23 minutes. Half the time it hardly felt like a battle! Yes, talking is a free action, but come the fuck on: at least dodge shit and fire salvos or MOVE while you blab. What a hamfisted way to try to inject a dramatic plot at the last minute - much of which could have been exposited AFTER the battle as everyone was heading home instead of halting its momentum every five seconds. *Flashbacks to Bleach*

Everybody's essentially hashed out anything I may want to say (sure is impressive when they blow up harmless AFK Abyssals), so just three points from me that I still want to yell about:

      1. Making Henderson evolve into Midway does not fix the problem of not including Midway from the start. (Leotard catches on fire... and becomes a ballgown???) And no, I'm not happy that I got to see two of my favorite Himes because it took asspulling to get there. And oh god her neck. Even in her final form it is not in the same ballpark of disturbing. Go home and think about what you did. (This one has been said before, but it just really, really pisses me off they thought they could fix it by having both. And this from someone who likes the idea that Abyssals evolve into other Abyssals!)
      2. I was promised Junyou and WAS NOT DELIVERED. That's the part that makes me angry; they essentially said she and RJ would show, AND THEN THEY DIDN'T, unless I'm supposed to be happy with another damn blink-and-you-miss-it cameo just before all the boats we've already seen show up. The fuck did they go? Oh well, it's not like that's the first promise this show has broken.
      3. Is it just me, or is everything wrong about Ooi and KTKM's happy reunion wrong after Ooi wigs out over the Abyssal gunk and before the Destroyers show up? No, at this point I don't even care if it's just me. This is way out of line for someone who should have been a relative badass, and what the hell? Also, you're in battle!

And yes, the stop-go on the OST ruined that whole aspect! One second I'm nodding along, and the next the funky tunes are abruptly gone. The rest of the time, they were being mixed together terribly, and not always the most appropriate music for the event.

Are we absolutely sure they did not change this at the last minute? So much seems shoehorned in.

As to the show as a whole, there's those fiddly instances of OOCness that bite my bum. Episode 11 is the only episode where Hibiki seemed remotely like herself. Before that? She was either a more laconic Ed (the Ed you think in Cartoon Network context, not Cowboy Bebop) or subtly insulting everyone (unlikely), and neither of those are herself. KTKM's blandness has been pointed out, and not only is it a waste when you consider she and Ooi could have made a decent comedy duo, it somehow got worse at the last minute. As did Akagi, turning into a brooding defeatist within the span of one episode when she used to be one of the more positive characters. In Kongou's case the personality changes worked out great (here's another that didn't care for her before the anime), but then she and her sisters are the exception, aren't they?

Surprisingly, I don't think that Fubuki as MC was a big strike. Once you've already accepted your favorite girl (Akitsu Maru, in case you were wondering) probably won't show up, much less be focused on, it mostly stops mattering who does. But in a game with so many bloody characters, it doesn't do to focus on a dollop of unseasoned mashed potatoes to the exclusion of most of them; that's where they went wrong. Maybe Episode 6 is favored not because lol filler or lol curry antics, but because it focused on other barking ships for a change.

With regards to the series tone, they need to either:
-Find writers that can properly balance lulz and drama. It can be done. This season is not proof.
-If that's out of the question for some reason, pick one and stick with it. It's okay if they want to do a SoL, what's not okay is including heavy drama at the cost of the verisimilitude of both approaches.

For a better anime, I envision a show that takes the military life concept way more seriously than we saw here. Someone pointed out the various tactical reasons why Fubuki taking Yamato on the water was nonsense; a SoL genre shouldn't erase the realities of a military/war setting. Needs more dark humor and less lol Kai Ni didn't give Fubuki diddies.

Even if the writers continue to not play the game (which, as mentioned, should have been the first item on their to-do list), that would be a vast improvement.

Now, to get into more subjective territory, some cast changes to be consistent with that...

-I agree with casting Yukikaze as the next MC; being such a celebrated ship should give her more room to have a vibrant personality beyond lol Akagi-senpai makes me wet, or at the least would make it make sense for her to be so speshul without really doing anything.
-Tatsuta could be the main supplier of that dark humor I mentioned, that being her whole personality, and you can't have her without Tenryuu.
-I promise I'm not just buttmad about this episode when I say Junyou. She could be the one who can make a positive out of a bad situation, without losing touch with its gravity. (I'm embarrassed to say, though, most of the traits they gave Kongou were things I'd have expected to see in Junyou, so they'd have to work hard at not making her Kongou 2.0.)
-Throw in the foreign exchange student with Prinz Eugen, or one of the Zs, and you have a ready-made plot good for one episode there. Most will think she's innocent due to her personality, when in reality she has seen some shit.
-Let's get some Yuugumos in here.

And that's about as far as I can go without falling into listing most of my favorite boats and spiraling into pure wish fulfillment. They already tried to make wish fulfillment, and look how that turned out. If avoiding repeating history is such a big theme to them that they had to dive deep to swim under an Abyssal shark at the last moment, then they'd better not do all this again in Season 2!

(As a cracky aside, all this talk of AFKness makes me think of the Abyssals leaving their computers for ten seconds to get sodas and the fleet girls, being opportunistic bitches with no netplay manners, swooping in and nuking them. BWS Flag-Kai returns to find herself sunk and Midway swearing into her headset at everyone as she goes down slamming her Fire button until her runways are empty.)

I'll have to agree too, that doujin is awesome. When I read that doujin, I was quite surprised by how close it was to my own views of Kancolle lore, though the author of the doujin had obviously put more thought into the world of Kancolle rather than I had.

Anyway, I shouldn't be commenting that though, since I still haven't watched even the episode 1 of the anime... (I probably won't watch the anime to be honest, I don't have much interest in doing so)

    • There is no Kancolle anime. That "The Beginning" manga is my headcanon.

It seems like episode 6 was the most well recieved by both Japanese fans and fans here in the English wiki. Seriously...? I guess it goes to show what people wanted and hoped to expect from the anime.

    • I wasn't a fan of ep. 6, but I get what ya mean. Make the anime go full SOL/fun and leave the serious stuff to the game (if it even continues to develop the Abyssal story in a meaningful way), or just leave it all up to the fans to theorize about.

as this game's anime i think it suits better for funny everyday life of the girls and the shitty admirals, if they want to make it serious plot, many ppl'll ask in mind the logic of these ship girls fighting and thats where things doesnt match

i read some fan doujin on danbooru :

      - make Tatsuta became dangerous yandere to the admirals

      - Shimakaze, Amatsukaze, Bismarck, Prinz Eugen wondering if their cloth are too revealing around the base, till some subs like i-58 show how openly normal she is in the base with swimsuit

      - Masochist admiral loves it getting abused by shipgirls

and many more to make it interesting

    • I enjoyed the anime, and have taken to watching the entire series again to see what I missed.

I think people expected too much going in, whereas I had no expectations of the anime, other than to bring the kanmusu to life. I enjoyed the easter eggs they gave to players of the game and chuckled quite at some of them, but it seemed to my friend (who doesn't play and who watched the series with me) that it was enjoyable, and had quality animation.

Meh. It is what it is, and I'm glad they have a 2nd season to expand upon the story. Let's hope they give supporting characters their due though. I want to see some subs and Junyou/Hiyou/Ryuujou.

    • Normally, I would be going to town trashing an anime like this, but for some reason I actually liked it. I guess I wasn't expecting too much, so I didn't feel disappointed in the end. Even with the nonsense plot and the badly implemented gameplay mechanics, the SoL parts were fun to watch.

Bucky was an ok MC. She's featured enough in the game art, so that almost merited her MC status.

The OST was really nice, though it was probably the only thing about the anime that really excelled for me.

Hopefully the 2nd season will make things much better.

    • I know it's kind of late but I just finished watching the last episode, and for me, it was bad in some ways. The reason why I don't really like this anime is because I enjoy the game and want the anime to expand more, they could explain stuffs like the origin of the abyssal, are the fleet girls count as a human or not, and others, but what we got is like an animated version of a doujin story. I really feel like they wasted so much potential here, and I think they also fail to attract new fans, since most people that I know who is not a fan of the series drop the anime after around 5 episode.

My actual problem with the anime is that the anime doesn't even know what it want to be, and when it decided to, the result isn't that nice. I really enjoy the first three episode since it have a balance of humor, action, and drama. It also give a pretty decent development to Fubuki, and I actually like what they did at the end of episode 3. I know that most of us don't even care when Kisaragi dies due to her few screentime, but it can have a great effect on other characters and give reason for drama and development. Sadly, it was dropped on the next episode.

Episode 4 onward was my main problem in that they shift tone from action-based anime to slice of life, if they actually do slice of life from the first episode then it's okay, but the first three episode suggest that this will give much more focus on the war with the abyssal and even killed of a character, whose dead really give no impact whatsoever (except for Mutsuki, then again only when Fubuki nearly kills herself) and resolved as an after-story to the actual story of the episode which is Kongou sisters' antics. Most episode after this are only there to introduce new characters, but I just don't find excitement within the episode themself.

The last arc which is the MI arc is just full of lulz moment for me. I really hate how they handled the admiral in this anime. I understand not wanting to create an admiral character since they represent the player, but the execution is just bad. They make it that the admiral is a really important character that is loved by all the other characters but doesn't even actually appear or talk, if they make the admiral into a character like the producers in Idolmaster anime then it can work, but here just feels weird, especially how the admiral can make all this plan from informations that are supposed to be secret for the abyssal, and in the end the admiral just disappear and return without any explanation, what the hell indeed. And don't get me started on the reason why Fubuki is so important, because there is none. The writers don't know how to explain Fubuki's status as the main character and just make things up, that doesn't make any sense.

The final battle is just so bad that it kind of feel like a gag. The enemies are not that strong compared with the protagonists, the only reason they are losing is because of the enemy numbers, and when reinforcement come, the battle turn into a joke. At least foreshadow Taihou somehow, her arriving like that is just a Deus Ex Machina. Then there's that AIrfield Princess evolving into Midway Princess thing, that enough is already weird, but what really weird is how they defeat her. Why is the Wo-Class is the core for the Princess, why is she have to be killed to kill the Princess? And Wo doesn't even try fighting Fubuki back after that build-up from the previous episode, she just fire once and doesn't even react when Fubukl launch her torpedoes. The Princess herself also goes down easily, I don't think any of her attack hit something. The whole some force is manipulating everything from the background is also forced and weak.

I know that I rant a lot but this is how I really felt watching this. There is some good part like the opening and ending theme are really good, and the carriers development were pretty nice, but the rest just doesn't feel right for me. For the second season, I kind of wish that it is actually a second anime with different writer(s) and director.

    • @BillySEEDDecade If you've really see the 12th eps to the end you'll know that Kisaragi's hairpin go out of the water when they kill the Who class and the hime (don't remember who it was) I think they prepared the op of the season 2 with this... But the way there's a lot of things very cool in this anime, I specifically like the concept.(I never played the game (no time))The staff have ideas and I think they can make the second season without changing writer(s) and director I think a lot but they probably look at the comment and take them like advice, and we maybe will have answers in the 2nd season.

    • Considered in a vacuum (or lodged into an anime with a logical story progression), episode 3 and 11 are my favourites: there's something at work, something that created the Abyssals, maybe the kanmusus, and that can and is forcing them to repeat history as it happened years before.

Now, the problem is of course that none of this is ever pointed out, episode 4 is Mood Whiplash: the Movie, and episode 12 pulls a "victory" out of thin air. The anime should have either remained in pure Fubuki Ganbarimasu style, or it should have walked the whole way, reduce a bit the slice of life, put a bit more war, prepare episode 11 more solidly, and then follow with episode 12 being a complete disaster. The girls tried to swerve fate; the girls failed. Season 1 ends with five ships gone (Akagi, Kaga, Hiryuu, Soryuu and Mikuma), the Abyssals advancing and then someone - anyone, really, even Bucky, if you really want to - pulling the fleet out of the dump and starting to move. THEN, prepare Season 2 to depict the kanmusus investigating WHAT is dragging them, how to prevent it, and bring the fleet to a happy ending.

As it went, I give the anime a 4/10, and ONLY because of episodes 3/10 and various scenes around.

No, no, I was posing an alternative route for how episode 12 could have gone, if - if - the anime had been centered more on having an actual plot. If they wanted to do a second season, it's not unusual (and even recommended) to have the midpoint being the lowest point in the whole story, from where the characters have to rebuild to reach the conclusion. I would have liked MI to go, despite all attempts to change their fate, like Midway: Akagi, Kaga, Hiryuu, Soryuu and Mikuma sunk. And from there (with a glimpse of it in episode 12, to point out that the end is not yet), rebuild during Season 2 up to a happy ending. Maybe, if you REALLY want to keep Bucky in the focus, have her be the one who realizes where fate is dragging them.

      But that's me, I guess.

To begin to answer that, we've got to go back to the intro, which calls them "girls who possess the souls of warships from years past[...] using weapons known as 'outfits'" (which in retrospect should have been our first clue they really weren't trying... I mean, come on, at least do something 10% more creative like "shipsuit" or something, just anything)... and then says "they were born with the power to fight the Abyssals." There's nothing in that second part that stops them being humans, because it's undoubtedly the "souls of the warships" that give them that power.

I would tentatively say that they are supposed to be human girls, taken with the fact the devs said that a scrapped girl continues life as a normal girl. Also, the blood from Kaga's mouth in ep 12 looks like just that - blood - in contrast to the wounds on Maya and Choukai's CGs, which could be leaking blood or oil (a possibility rendered moot by what the devs said).

(If this isn't swerving off-topic, just based on how untenable it is to have 9000 scrapped identical-twin Nakas roaming loose in the world, I think having the fleet girls be human is sheer nonsense, but it is what it is. This means it's no longer a question of "are they human", but "do you want to ignore that part of canon and have them be machines".)

The first three episodes, yeah, were bastions of false hope. If it had continued with that balance, it would have been a decent, if not good, addition to KanColle. Unfortunately, some of the things that salvaged the later episodes were also entwined with what made the show bad. (Would it have been possible to have derpy Kongou class without the mood whiplash? ...Not from this "writer".)

I did expect a higher level of detail because the CG's of the kanmusu in the game are made by a variety of different artists. In terms of story and characters development its pretty much what I expected: A lot of fanservice to sell more merchandise.

    • First, i love daily life anime. Maybe that's why i enjoyed this anime while the others don't.

      Story: (7/10)

That's okay to put daily life of the fleet girl. The weakness of this anime is the thrill at the beginning battle fades quickly not even until the mid part of battle. Thus, those "sortie" episodes become more suppressed. (Did you see that poll? Is that episode a "daily life" or a "serious" ones?)

      Sound: (9,5/10)

OP & ED were too epic, nuff said. The BGM were... okay.

      Graphics: (7,5/10)

The art is good enough for an anime nowadays. Heck, i don't care about the graphics, same goes for video games.

      Others:

      • Thank god that it has a lesser amount of fan service than the game does (or it actually has more?)
      • I'm glad to know the dock was a hot spring. XD
      • It needs more battle, and of course, more casualties of war (more sunk ship). I'm not a hater of good ending, but it's a military anime afterall. Besides, in a daily life anime, there should be some tears dropping.
      • Damn, i'd love to see the rest of naval district. Is there any male besides the Teitoku? or more fairies?
      • This anime reminds me of A Certain Scientific Railgun, where there are too much daily life episodes. They fixed it in Season 2, though.

When I watched the show, I felt like it was aimed at 14y old kids. Like, every 2nd episode felt like pure fanservice with no progression at all. The other episodes were some cheesy slice of life crap. I expected way more battles with nice animations but there were almost none. • well, thats what I would say, If the game didnt exist. But since we are playing a game, where the only thing you can do is fight, I disagree with you. The game features almost zero slice of life elements. What you described is what the animation studio behind the anime decided to do, which is not necessarily the vision of the developers. But then again, its hard to create something original out of a game with as little substance as kancolle.

    • For someone who studies the IJN, I didn't know if I would like this anime or not. Being bored one day, I downloaded it and began watching it. By the end I was pleasantly surprised...the people behind the scenes managed to include a lot of nods to the ships' former lives, and I didn't really mind the historical revisions (otherwise we wouldn't have seen Taiho in the anime or the film at all, and I knew some historical revision would present, as they can't have Yamato present without firing the 18-inch guns).

The thoughts I came away with from watching the anime:

Battleships seem to be either crazier than a box of frogs (Kongos), stoic individuals who seem to be above everything else (Nagato), or girls-next-door who could be a helluva lot of fun and who would be perfect as naughty librarians or naughty secretaries (Mutsu). And who wouldn't want a hot girl like Kongo chasing after them?

Carriers love to eat (Akagi) and can be highly competitive (ZuiKaga).

Yudachi is the valley girl of the bunch, Mutsuki is the sweet one, Fubuki is the helpful, eager-to-please one, and DesDiv 6 are the most adorable ships I've ever seen.

      I'll give a 10/10...here's hoping Season 2 comes soon!

    • I liked the anime very much. Back then, I had no idea on how to get to play KanColle, so I was very bitter. I then said to myself that if I can't play the game, I will watch it. Even though the CG needs improvement as well as the plot, I really liked the show. Especially since you see the kanmusu "alive" and the seiyuu were very good in doing their job (esp. Nao Toyama, Ayane Sakura and Aya Suzaki).

As for the rating, this legend says for myself:
